Victorian c. 1850s Mico Beaded Chatelaine Purse / Beaded Reticule
This is a lovely, little Victorain c.1850s, mico beaded, chatelaine purse.
The little purse is made on an open top , oblong pouch with a tassel end and silk ribbon hanger that has a hook sewn into bow.
The bag is made with a beige backing and has micro pearlized, clear, white, yellow, greens, pink, black and gold beads in a small flower pattern . The interior is muslin lined.
This bag came out of a nice collection of bags from the Connecticut estate of a mom and two daughers. The bags were handmade in multiples of 3 , one each , as beading lessons I believe.
The condition is very nice for it’s age. It has overall light wear .
The purse measures: 8 1/4″ total length/ 4″ bag length/ 2 3/4″ bag width/ 3″ silk ribbon handle length/ 1″ beaded tassel length.
