1950s bridal gown / vintage wedding dress and veil made in satin.
This gown was made for the bride from of an advertisement in the Spring 1950 Brides magazine . This magazine will be included with the dress .
The gown is made of heavy rayon satin in Candlelight color which is more in the antique ivory coloring.
The gown has a lace bodice with a small round collar and long sleeves with pointed cuffs. The back neckline has snaps to close.
The magazine description is : “Regal princess lines in a traditional gown of superb beauty! Luxurious rayon satin etched with a queen’s heritage of imported hand clipped Chantilly lace; a belled skirt of unpressed pleats flowing into a magnificent court train. ” ( Originally $110.00)
The lace veil is a different floral pattern from dress. It is in very nice condition , sturdy and strong.
The dress pulls over the head with a metal side zipper .
The condition is good , wearable and sturdy. It does need to have the lace sleeves removed or replaced because the right sleeve has 3 holes , one a couple of inches, and a light brownish spot. on the left should, top by neck, is a hole. The lace is dry .There are a couple of small light marks on train bottom . Above the zipper is a seam separation 1.5″ and beside this on back are two thin scratch lines. Very light yellowish spot on small of back.
There is enough lace in veil to replace the dress lace with something of the same vintage.
The dress was measured laid flat and doubled: 34″ bust/ 26″/ waist 16″ below shoulder/ 25″ sleeve length to cuff point / 56″ length/ 60″ train from waist.
Veil is 53″ x 36″
